Course Description
In this self-care course for massage therapists, you'll learn how instinctive meditation can help you stay rested and rejuvenated on a daily basis. This course developed from conversations with a number of massage therapists I know professionally, as friends, or as private clients. I'd love to give you a tool to help prevent burnout, to help you be more present in your own life, and with your clients.
When you learn a sport, a musical instrument, or how to give massages, you learn smaller skills before playing a game, performing in a recital, or giving a full body massage. Why not do the same thing with your meditation practice? Reduce frustration by using tricks gleaned from Dr. Lorin Roche's decades of research with regular, healthy meditators from a variety of traditions. Lorin is my mentor for meditation and I continue to train under him.
We'll talk about what meditation is and obstacles that might be preventing you from being a healthy meditator. You'll learn and practice some 1 minute skills that successful meditators use but that aren't being taught. We will alternate learning some skills with some guided meditations and some explorations on your own. There will also be time for optional massage exchanges.
